PISOTA Scholars Shine at the Beazer Charity Foundation's Annual Dinner of Champions in Washington, D.C.

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, scholars from Phoenix International School of the Arts (PISOTA) took center stage at the Beazer Charity Foundation's Annual Dinner of Champions, held at the Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, D.C — the standout event culminating Beazer Homes’ Annual Day of Service. The evening was a proud moment for our school community, as our talented young musicians and dancers delivered stunning performances for hundreds of guests gathered to celebrate philanthropy and community impact.

Dressed in concert black, the PISOTA instrumental ensemble brought elegance and artistry to the evening's festivities. The group — featuring violins, cello, flute, clarinet, and French horn — performed during the reception, filling the ballroom with the sounds of classical and contemporary repertoire as guests arrived and mingled. It was a powerful demonstration of the caliber of musicianship our scholars are developing through PISOTA's rigorous arts-integrated curriculum.

For many of our scholars, this was their first time performing at a major professional event in the nation's capital — and they rose to the occasion with poise, professionalism, and joy. From tuning up backstage to taking their seats before a room full of business leaders, philanthropists, and community advocates, our students embodied the R.I.S.E. values that define our school: Reflect, Innovate, Serve, and Excellence.

The Beazer Charity Foundation, wholly owned by Beazer Homes, is dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities where the company builds. The Annual Dinner of Champions brings together leaders from across the region to honor charitable giving and community service. Being invited to perform at this prestigious event is a testament to the reputation PISOTA's arts program is building beyond Charles County.

Events like these are at the heart of what makes PISOTA unique. As Charles County's first and only public charter school, we are committed to providing our scholars — many from under-resourced backgrounds — with transformative experiences that extend far beyond the classroom. Performing at professional venues, engaging with community leaders, and representing their school on a public stage teaches our young artists lessons in confidence, discipline, and service that will last a lifetime.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Beazer Charity Foundation for the invitation and for their commitment to uplifting communities. We also thank the families who supported their scholars' participation and the PISOTA music faculty and administration for preparing our students to perform at such a high level.

This is just the beginning. As we look ahead to our Spring Arts Showcase on May 1st and continue to grow our music program, moments like these remind us why we do this work — and why the arts matter.

Together, We Will R.I.S.E. to S.O.A.R.
